As the holidays are quickly approaching, one of the questions that I hear most often from my personal training clients is how to maintain their weight during the holiday season. Without a doubt that is a big challenge given all of the events that include food and caloric surplus, but this can be accomplished, let’s take a look.
First off it’s a good practice to make sure that you’re always in a caloric balance. If you know that you are going to eat badly at night time make sure that you are eating less calories at the beginning of the day. In addition to that make sure to get some cardio in so that way you have burned some calories which will put you in a more positive and of the caloric expenditure ratio.
Other tricks like trying to fill up on water and protein first before you eat the sweets can also help. At the end of the day, it is okay to enjoy during the holiday season but it’s important to be careful because you can sabotage your goals easily. By making sure to continue exercising and to eat in somewhat moderation you can keep those extra pounds off during the holiday season.
